Now this can’t be a good move. EA decided that on September 1, they’re shutting down online play for 42 titles (providing for multiple console iterations of the same game), mostly consisting of outdated (2005-6) sports games such as Madden, FIFA, NBA Live, and Tiger Woods PGA Tour. On November 1, Burnout: Revenge, NFS: Most Wanted, NFS: Underground, and NFS: Underground 2 will be going dark. I
expect hope to see some backlash over this. EA already makes enough money from selling the same repackaged game with small changes and roster updates each year… and now they’re forcing you to upgrade if you still want the full functionality of your game. I still play some PC games that have been out for many, many years… why the hell should two-year-old games get the axe? Greed, pure and simple. Shame on you, EA. Full list of games after the jump.
